Many 100's of sheep, pig and cattle crates have been revitalised by fitting a Pharmweigh Crate Conversion Kit, extending the life of old crates while considerably improving accuracy, reducing weighing time and most importantly reducing stress to the stock and the operator.
A stainless steel IP67 sealed " S " beam load cell replaces the spring balance, remaining on the crate permanently if required even if left outside or transported regularly.
A basic feature of replacing the spring balance with a steel loadcell is the lack of motion. The crate no longer bounces up and down, the crate becomes almost rigid. Importantly livestock are far less stressed when standing on a stable floor compared to a moving bouncing floor.
